Did everyone hear about the terrorist attacks in london this morinng. I turned on my TV and was stunned. Although you may think this is much more minor than that of 9/11 people stilll died! I've been saying London would be a target for a long time and the authorities say they have a plan but it dosen't look like it! :(

People die every day as a result of a human action, this is no different. Why make a fuss of this?

I might have understood why you said that if you lived in another country...

It is very different. Human action catagorises a thousands of types of incidents. Some threaten only one or two people. This threatens the world.

And this was an inevitable thread. I saw it coming a mile off

But I do. I'm not saying this is something that should just be ignored.

Hundreds, and probably thousands, die of starvation or disease which is the fault of a group of people elsewhere, everyday.

Whats the difference between placing a bomb on a bus and poisoning the sky with chemicals?

Avast, 'tis a fine day to be sure.

There is a big difference. Seriously, you of all people, i thought you would be more mature about this.

This is threatening our country. Even though we may be small, we have one of the most advanced Armys in the world, lots of big friends and a lot to live up to. Aren't you worried that there could possibly be another World War? I, personally, can't brush this aside and treat it like another brick in the wall.

And for all the hundreds and thousands and even millions of people that die of starvation and poverty, we're trying our best. We as a people won't be able to make a difference until the G8 drop the debt. What do you think the marches were for? What was Live8 all about?

But the fact that the only people that can help the thousands of people dying of starvation and poverty are now under threat is a different matter is it not? If get caught up in something that takes up all our resources, then the poor people are left on their own again.

At least, I know what Im saying.

I'm not saying you should care less about it. I'm saying react to both bombs and poverty the same. It's silly to seperate the two. Why react differently to them.

I know this affects people and we've had phone calls throughout the day from relatives that live abroad asking if we were alright.

Mature? I'm certainly not immature. If I was I would be saying that these attacks aren't important.

Just realise terrorism isn't some gigantic, mass of death that will kill us all in itself. More people die directly as a result of disease and famine than terrorists attacks.

That's kinda conceited. You just said London is the only place that can help everyone in the world? What about Canada or the US. (mostly Canada because the US just blows things up)

Also, another world war couldn't happen. Just a lot of country to country wars. (still a lot of deaths tho)

I'm not saying this attack is unimportant or uneventful. I'm asking you why you haven't made thread upon thread asking why people are still dying in Africa and other poor countries.

I am NOT arguing with people's concerns and grievances related to this event.

Because the rich people aren't complaining about them. So therefore they aren't on the news.

I have to agree with pope. Whilst to the people involved I'm sure it's terrible, 37(+) people is nothing compared to what is caused every day by us, or in-fact in other countries by other terrorists. No matter how many people they kill, there will always be more people that we have killed through other means.

There will never be a world war relating to these attacks. These people are not the world, just a small(ish) group of extremists.

I didnt say that. I meant this was another example of the fact that the better off countries are under threat. And THEY are the only things that can help the LEDCs.

To be honest with you, what happened this morning is nothing special.
London was asking for it and they got it.
It will happen again but the next attack will be far more serious than this.
