|  how do i turn off autorun, cuz when i put the disk in it tries to autorun but fails, and it makes Explorer not respond

what OS are you using? you could try clicking on ur CD drive and click properties. Then try looking for an AutoPlay tab. Then you should probably know how to stop it autoplaying. I can only disable music autoplaying on XP at a quick glance. Also try going through control panel and then CDs or something like that.
