Hmm, I'd heard of torrent once or twice, but I never knew what it was. Wait a second, I still don't know what it is.

Torrent is short for BitTorrent. It's like p2p, except better because you share it in parts (randomly ordered, it's put back together in order by the reciever) - so:

Mr. 1 (has part A)
Mr. 2 (has part C, D)
Mr. 3 (has part B)

Together, they have all 4 parts. They send it to each other etc. and eventually everyone has all 4 parts.

Simple.

It sounds insanely pointless.

I used to use limewire before I noticed that i was suceptible to guilt etc. So torrent is like that. No?

Torrents can be shared by theme, or general useage depending on what site (or tracker, tracker = server like thing that looks for and manages everyone and all the torrents uploaded to the server). I could download all the episodes of RedvsBlue in one package (tho that would ammount to about 8 gigs)

Go to http://www.torrentspy.com and search up anything. L stands for leechers, S stands for Seeders. Seeders are the people that are hosting the file(s) for download, while the leechers are the downloaders. Leechers are also seeders as well depending on how much they've downloaded, but arn't considered seeders because they havent downloaded the thing at %100 yet. You can pause/stop/resume torrents at anytime and not get a bad download. evar (well... i never did)

Its a very nice system of shareing, on Xbox-Sky I managed to download all these xbox games
