Someting i made as i was bord like hell.

Here is what I'm going to be painting for my art GCSE exam. The question is based on colour so I can do pretty much any as long as it's related to colour.

To create that image, I waited untill it was dark. Then I got my dad's Nikon camera, put it on a tripod and rotated the camera 90 degrees.

I had to work out where the edge of the frame was for where the subject was going to be, so I marked the ground where the edges were. The height did not matter really.

On the camera, there is a setting which when the shutter release button is pressed, the shutter stays open for 8 seconds. This meant that any light exposed to the camera's lens would be on the final image.

All I need to do now is make the room pitch black, get someone to put the shutter release button and drop a glow stick in the appropriate area, which creates a streak of colour accross the image.

I only had one glow stick which was orange so I had to use photoshop to alter the colours. I also used photoshop to layer and blend the images onto each other, also to reposition them.

Interesting, Harry. Have you tried setting the camera to look down at the floor, maybe taking up a 1/3 of the shot and catching how the glowstick bounces too?
