just watch your site doesn't grow too much, a site like BTP would pay about $30 / month.

Zog, I dont understand how you started BTP, if its being hosted, and if your paying anything to the host. Im not on top of making and hosting websites.

Anyway, yes it's being hosted on surpass hosting ( http://www.surpasshosting.com ) for ~$60 / yr.

I started BTP on my comp, coded it there, bought a domain and hosting and uploaded it. Mentioned it on about 2 forums and it all just went from there. I'm sure alot of the success was down to bloopy uploading a whole load of files, probably some word of mouth from Ben (and others), and the fact that it was an automated upload process. There was one other site that I /know/ did auto uploads at the time (GiT clan I think) - but it just used one of those free download script things which are limited by the fact they were coded for a very generic purpose.

(I also mentioned in another thread that freepgs is a surpasshosting reseller. Fair enough though, that's what reseller plans are for, reselling, and it is a different pricing structure. Although yes, it's always worth being wary of those who offer unlimited b/w.)

yeah they do allow you to upgarde, but again these are one time costs.

The downside (i should mentined this earlier) is that use their "free ip"server. If you have a domain hosted there, its costs a bit more, I think there is a monthly fee, and You get to use ther "paid IP server" Its ranked this way because Freepgs used to give away 20MB of space with databases and unlimited bandwidth. Now that costs ya 3 bucks.. still a good price for the aspiring php author or any othe scripting / markup language.. I host my site from there, and Ive only had one good mishap where the sever was down for aboyr 2 hours. that sucked. But it wasn't too bad.

Like I said, I wouldn't host a site like BTP there, but good for clans, and beginers looking to learn.
