If you don't know what a meringue (pronounced merrang) is, well it's a kind of dessert made of baked egg whites and probably lots of sugar. Anyway this is a true story and an unsolved mystery, and possibly the first paranormal occurence to touch my life:

Anyway it was a boring day for a packet of 12 little solid white meringues at the supermarket, but little did they know they were about to set off on an adventure. Because along came a human being (let's call her Mummy) and picked up the packet and placed it into a supermarket trolley.

Sometime later that week, after some dwelling in the kitchen cupboard, 8 of the meringues were dished out. 2 for Mummy, 2 for Daddy, 2 for Jase (friend who was staying here until he could find a funky apartment near the city), and 2 for Jenny (sister whose voice is so quiet that when she said she didn't want any she was not heard). Bloopy didn't have any because he's not a fan of meringues. So that left 4 meringues remaining, in a container in the kitchen cupboard.

But alas, one morning, Daddy was to find one of these meringues horrifically butchered and mangled. Half was found in a pile of meringue rubble outside near the front door, while the other half was found in a similar state in the hallway near the bottom of the stairs. All 5 of us deny commiting such a horrendous act of sadistic meringue smashing, and there is seemingly no other explanation for it.

Perhaps only fingerprints can tell the tale now.

I suppose that's one "good" thing about my degree (aero engineering), there aren't too many terms/words/etc that have "alternative" meanings.
What, like cockpits, turboshafts, thrust, nozzles, corkscrews, ram drag, payload, flaps, and wind tunnels?
