So along with Halo 2 on the XBox, Half Life 2 has been delayed until the 11th of November.

So I've got a bit of spare cash to spend on a game that'll kept me entertained til 11th Novemeber (hopefully). Not sure what to get though.

I'm looking for a FPS or RTS preferably. I've got around £35 to spend, so that covers nearly everything but the cheaper it is, the better it plays (that motto is the reason I've got a plethora of budget range games).

Also squelchy is looking for a PC game for around £20, any suggestions for him?

Redbull gives you wings!

I would definately choose halo 2, because the first one kicks ass, and I'm sure the second one will be better.
But that's just me.

I've decided to either get UT2k4 or Call of Duty...

What game did you get?

UT2k4 is teh pwn, really. Even without online play, this game is a hell lot of fun.

If you are a fan of WW2 games with a good historic plot, take Call of Duty, tho

I'm really lost as to what to got for. Both suit my tastes.

I am split between them right between the middle. Which is better, online?

What about the tactic side of things? I want a game with good teamplay online. UT just doesn't seem capable of being co-ordinated. CoD on the other hand is more well paced afaik.

ut2k4 does require some tactical playing in it, namly in onslaught mode. Also, there is a lot of tactical mods for ut2k4 (EG: Alien Swarm)

I haven't played CoD online, and i don't want to lie saying that it's good/bad.

I've both played and watched pros play UT2k4 online though, and i can say, it's great. There are always at least 100-150 players online, there is something like a built-in UT2004 community news, a large variety of official maps to play on(there aren't much fan-made yet), and, because you can add mutators to your game(similar to Wormpot), online matches will never become boring. There are 10 online game types in total, in two of them you can use vehicles and aircraft. You'll need a quick reaction, very good reflexes, and the ability to think very fast in order to play online, since certain game types contain some RTS elements

Also, a fast internet connection is recommended, or else people online will hate you

In short, if UT2003 was a very, very improved version of Quake 3 Arena, UT2004 has twice as content UT2003 had. It's also twice as big(6 CDs, over 5GB on HD)
