It really depends on how dense fat is. I suggest having a bacon sandwich, ripping off the fat and dunking it in the sink, full of water and see if it floats or sinks!:P

Grease, oil, etc. are lighter than water.

Yeh, it's all a question of density. Grease and Oil are less dense than water, hence they float. Air is less dense than water, otherwise you'd just have a huge barrier of water at the top of the atmosphere and all the air and land at the bottom.

And yeh, people with lots of fat do float better, they did tat experiment on that crazy program on sky one. lol.

That would make a great postcard!;)

There's no such thing as pure alcohol. It can only be of a maximum of about 96%

Pure alcohol is ethanol isn't it? If you drink one drop it can kill you supposedly. It also makes a good fuel for some cars, some people brew it themselves.

I suppose that's one "good" thing about my degree (aero engineering), there aren't too many terms/words/etc that have "alternative" meanings.
What, like cockpits, turboshafts, thrust, nozzles, corkscrews, ram drag, payload, flaps, and wind tunnels?

You can't get pure alcohol because it absorbs water. The maximum you can get it is to about 96%. The other 4% is water.

Random fact: In Brazil they use a mix of petrol and ethanol for car fuel.

Every time I go out and buy Everclear someone gives me some comment like "You can peel paint with that stuff" or "You could run your car off that stuff"

It's great for disinfecting cuts too. So if you ever go camping, be sure to bring some everclear. :P

Now lets say you poured half and half of everclear and water into one and let it settle, would water/everclear sink to the bottem, or would it all just disapate and mix together? Even if it sat for days.

I am trying to figure something out about this concering when bars water down thier drinks.
