here's a question: why do i get pop ups when i'm not connected to the internet?

try the mime settings in the prefs window, it's under navigator->helper applications on the full moz suite.

tried it, most servers send wrong mime types - i'd like it to use the extention but i dotn think that is possible.

Besides, the standard prefs window doesn't seem to work in Firebird...  Clicking on the categories on the left does nothing.
